    • Junior coaching will commence on Sunday 6 September and will run for six consecutive Sundays, 10am -10.50am weather permitting! This season the Club will cover the cost.

Please contact Annick Spibey, our Club Secretary, for further details and to register your interest.

    For existing members

LTA guidelines show that pre booking courts is no longer necessary as doubles games can now be played simultaneously on both courts. However, if you are playing and people are waiting for courts please play no more than four games at a time.

Refreshments are now available in the club house, but please ensure you wash your cup etc in hot water.

A visitors book situated in the clubhouse MUST be signed and required details given each time you play. This is for track and trace purposes.

Whilst at the Club please use hand sanitiser regularly and continue to follow all Government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

  1. From this week it is no longer necessary for Steve to open and close the courts and the clubhouse at the beginning and end of each day. It will be up to members to lock up the:

    • Clubhouse
    • Courts
    • Main gate

HPTC is delighted to offer a trial of Taster Family Memberships for July and August at a cost of £30.00 per family. Please ring Annick, our Secretary on 07572 903515 for further details or email [email protected]

    3.  HPTC is planning to offer free coaching for Junior members once the LTA give the green light for coaching to recommence. Watch this space for further information

  2. Great to see tennis being played again at HPTC!

The booking system is working well and the courts are being well used. A downpour would reduce the swirling clay and although Steve has been using the sprinklers to dampen down, the effect is minimal in this mild, windy weather.

Michael is offering private lessons from Saturday 30 May at HPTC if you are interested. Please click here for more information.

Please contact our Club Secretary if you wish to book.

  3. The recent rain has been a bonus for the courts which are playing well.

Now doubles play is permitted the timetable of play for the ladies and the men has been reinstated. Ladies only, play Tuesday and Thursday mornings and men only, play Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

However, for now at least, all other times of play need to be booked via Steve. The Committee are at present looking at an online booking system so that members can see at a glance if courts are free. We’ll keep you posted on this matter.

    Happy tennis.

  4. Hello everyone. The LTA has updated its advice for venues, players and coaches.

As from Monday 1 June six people will be allowed on the courts at any one time i.e. one doubles game and one singles game. There will be no more than six people allowed inside the gate at any one time.

Steve will continue to run a court booking system to ensure there are only six people playing at any one time.

Members are STRONGLY recommended to read the LTA website - “Return To Managed Play - Advice To Players” before playing.

Please will members booked in to play bring and use their own hand sanitiser.

Happy tennis, we’re slowly getting there!

  5. LTA guidelines based on government regulations now say that we can make a cautious return to tennis.

HPTC will open its doors on Wednesday 13 May with the following provisos:

    • Our normal tennis timetable will be disbanded for now
    • One singles game only at a time unless the people involved are from a single household group i.e. a family.
    • The courts must be booked in advance with Steve Orchard on 01625 630087 or 07725 848829. Steve will open the clubhouse and the court gates and these must only be closed and locked by him at the end of each day to minimise the risk of infection.
    • Two hour slots will be available each day of the week from 10am - 6pm.
    • All players booking a court must have paid their membership fees for this season. Potential new members please contact either Steve on one of the above numbers or the Chair whose number is on the website.
    • The Clubhouse will be open for members to use the toilets and hand wash basins only and to have access to the first aid kit. The kitchen area remains out of bounds to minimise the risk of infection.
    • Tennis balls will be found in the shed. Please return these after your game.

    Recommendations

    • Bring sanitiser for personal use.
    • Wear gloves.
    • And finally, don't forget to sweep the courts after use and ENJOY your tennis.

As this situation may change as time goes on please keep checking our website regularly for further information and updates.

  6. Our courts are looking superb and will be ready to use once the Government gives us the green light to do so.

Two of our members have been working hard on the allotment area and lots of different vegetables have been planted.

We are closely following LTA advice and when, and only when, the Government sat that tennis can resume will our club open.

It has been suggested that members of the same household may be able to play certain group sports, but again we will wait for clarification from the LTA before moving frward with this.

We hope you are all safe and well and looking forward to some great tennis in the future.

We will post regular updates to keep you all informed.
